Mapley, Buttery Goodness

This cookie is exemplary. Each crunchy wafer releases an explosion of buttery, mapley goodness in your mouth. Just little doses of Heaven! I had these cookies on a flight and I am so glad I found this store on a recent trip to Savannah.

Bit into this baby wafer while taking my morning coffee on yesterday's flight home, and my mouth exploded with heavenly bliss. I have never ever looked online for a cookie! I sure am glad Byrd's Maple wafers are even available for sale to the general public, but only on its website.

I had Maple Wafers on a flight from Newark, NJ to Burlington, VT. It was a tiny plane, about 2/3 full, and we were in the air for about 45". The beverage service was water...and then a bag of these delightful little cookies....I begged for more, which the air steward was happy to provide...I held on to my trash in order to try and track down a source that did NOT involve bumpy plane rides; EUREKA! I have found a source....just delicious and unique snappy texture and sweet touch of maple....yummy.

I also discovered these on a flight back from Florida, and I almost said no when the flight attendant asked me if I wanted a snack. I said yes, tried these, and was hooked immediately. I love anything maple; these cookies are amazingly delicious!

I had the opportunity to taste these cookies on a connecting flight to Newark, NJ then also on my way to Providence, RI. I ate one bag, then I asked the stewardess for more, she happily gave me more bags. These cookies have just the right flavor. I wish there was a retailer near me who sells them. I will order online.

I first experienced the Byrd's Maple Wafers on an airplane flight. The flight attendant served the small bag of cookies with our early morning coffee. I though they were so delicious I asked for another package which she gave to me. Is soon as I retuned home from our trip I found the Byrd website and ordered the cookies to enjoy at home. They are fabulous with their delicious flavor and crisp texture. I wish I could duplicate them in my own kitchen!!! What a treat!!!!!

Remembering back

I remember when I was a little girl going to the store to get my Byrd Cookie company cookies they came and strawberry vanilla and chocolate they were a long rectangular shape with ridges in them you're you know like the coconut cookies have. They were so delicious you could get them for a penny apiece I would take $0.25 and get 25 cookies mixed with the different flavors everyday. I wish they would make those again.

These maple wafers were terrible. I did not taste any maple flavor or butter. They were crunchy enough and kinda tasted like molassis and chemicals. After looking at the ingredients, butter is not listed, margerin is and maple syrup is one of the last ingredients.

My Son Wouldn't Share With Me

On our outbound flight from Chicago to Vancouver, I chose these for my snack while my son and husband took the ho-hum pretzels. I thought they night be Canadian because of the maple syrup and was happy to see they're made in the U.S.! Well I saved them for my 6 year old, knowing he might want a tasty treat. I offered them to him, but he wasn't interested. On our inbound flight coming back to Chicago, we had a different carrier and no maple wafers. Son remembered them and after he tried rhem, REFUSED to share! Now this isn't typical of him, so i knew he loved them. I just had to try a piece and the crumb he finally gave me was delicious. We also saved our little wrapper and looked up Byrd's! Gonna be gerring more of these!!

Every year when I go home to Savannah for Christmas I always make it trip out to Byrd's Cookies. Well I always purchased a benney wafers for the last two years I have added the maple wafers to my purchase. They are fantastic and it's hard to put them down. I first tried these as an airline snack and loved them.I bought them a few times and when I went to buy them again I was told you were no longer making them.I was so disappointed . I am glad you brought them back and I think you should leave a good thing alone and keep them.Please do not stop making them again.
